Mark Leymon, Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty, co-presented “Cleaning the Dirty Pool: Methodological Considerations in Assessing the Impacts of Policies on State Imprisonment Over Time” at the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology, in Philadelphia in November. The paper assesses different modeling techniques, variable construction, and interpretive approaches in regression-based modeling of the impact of policies on state-level imprisonment rates over time.
