Scott Wells, Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty, was invited to accompany 40 elected officials, board members, and citizens into the Clackamas River Watershed on Sept. 24 for a watershed tour. He was one of the local experts explaining the role of water quality modeling in the watershed and how the river basin system can be managed to meet fish habitat goals. The tour was organized by the Clackamas River Water Providers and is part of a larger public outreach effort for the entire Willamette river basin. The larger effort is part of an National Science Foundation funded project entitled “anticipating water scarcity and informing integrative water system response” for the Willamette River basin.
