Leading independent national news organization, Mother Jones, calls PSU's MURP program "top-notch, cool, AND practical" in its September 15th issue.

In an article that details nine different undergraduate and graduate programs that will, despite the persistently woeful economic climate, actually land students lucrative jobs in high-demand fields, Mother Jones calls PSU's Masters of Urban and Regional Planning program "cool AND practical."

"Students at this Oregon school's urban studies and planning program can choose from a wide range of classes on everything from poverty to pedestrians, but its coolest feature by far is a summer internship program in China, where many students work on green building projects.

The article offers accolades to PSU's MURP degree program alongside other widely-revered grad programs such as those of Northwestern's Orthotics and Prosthetics and Berkeley's Biochemistry.  Remarking on PSU's vibrant urban location and MURP students' opportunities for international internships, Mother Jones calls the program a best bet for "city mice with wanderlust."
