Portland State University's Korean Student Association (KSA) and Institute for Asian Studies present
A Korean Film Festival & fundraiser for Korean Studies at PSU.

 Director Kim Hyeon-seok crafts a romantic comedy about a matchmaking dating service with a 100% success rate . . . until an unpredictable client comes along. Will Cyrano Dating Agency succeed in bringing love into it's client's life?

Poetry (2010; 139 min Korean w/English subtitles.)
Writer and director Lee ChangDong, tells the moving story of a woman in the 60s, who, while working as a caretaker for a disabled man and raising her irresponsible grandson, must confront the onset of Alzheimer's. She develops an interest in poetry as a means to cope and in turn discovers beauty in the mundane.

Don’t Cry for me Sudan (2010; 90 min. documentary; Korean w/English subtitles)
Director Coo Soo-Hwan documents the life of Catholic Father Tae-Seok John Lee who worked as a doctor, teacher, conductor, architect, and priest in the small Sudan village of Tong. After his death in 2010 a funeral was held for him by the local Dinka tribe with many of the tribal warriors in tears.

 Jeon Woo Chi: the Taoist Wizard (2009; 136 min, Korean w/English subtitles)
Director Choi Dong-hoon's action, comedy, fantasy movie depicts a tale from the Chosen Dynasty, about a wizard that has been quested to save pipe of prophecy from the hands of the evil goblins and restore order in the world. (Contains violence, rated PG-13/R)
