Congratulations on your decision to attend Portland State University!
All new undergraduate students are required* to attend New Student Orientation.
At Orientation, you will:
- Learn how to navigate PSU student resources and support services
- Learn about graduation requirements
- Learn how to access advising services after orientation
- Register for your first term of classes!
You will leave New Student Orientation having met with an academic adviser, and registered for your first term of classes.
*Non-Degree, Post-Bac, Distance Learner and Graduate students are not required to complete the New Student Orientation program that our office coordinates. In some cases, there may be orientation requirements specific to your program.

Sign Up for Orientation
Please select your student type from the three options below. From there you will be able to register for an orientation session for your upcoming first term.
Confirm Your Enrollment
Payment of a $200 nonrefundable tuition deposit is the first step in the enrollment process for newly admitted students. It is required for students to register for New Student Orientation, secure a PSU ID card and register for classes. The tuition deposit will appear as a credit on a student’s first tuition invoice. Financially eligible students are exempt from paying the $200 tuition deposit, but must still confirm they are coming to PSU prior to signing up for Orientation (see below for eligibility requirements).
