Kade Peden

Kade is originally from Medford, Oregon, but has called Portland home for the last 8 years. He moved to Portland to attend Lewis & Clark College, ultimately graduating with a B.A. in German studies in 2013. During his time at Lewis & Clark he worked as an resident advisor, resident career advisor, student life intern, a College Outdoors trip leader, and supervised his school's sports complex. Speaking of sports, Kade played football at Lewis & Clark and coaching wrestling at Wilson High School. Lastly, he spent a year studying abroad in Munich, Germany and loved every second of it (Kannst du Deutsch?) Through these experiences Kade learned to value of a residential education, the value of curiosity, and how living on campus supports a student's success.

Starting in fall of 2017, Kade is the new Residence Director for University Success - East Campus. Being a first-generation low-income student himself, Kade has a passion for helping students navigate the complex world of higher education and helping them find meaning in their education.

When Kade isn't doing academic coaching, he is chatting with students about how to build a more equitable world, the queer community, rock climbing, and who truly has the best ramen in Portland (hint: try Afuri!). Come see him to talk about your academic journey, managing your time, or if you ever need someone to hold space for you and help you process your day.
