Lim Chang Min: Into a Time Frame - Borrowed Landscapes - Opening Reception

Lim Chang Min combines unconventional moving and still screens to create his own vibrant and temporal view of reality. His work features ‘a scenery within a scenery,’ each taken at different times and locations, placing a moving image within the window frame of a neat room in a still photograph.

In 1999, he won the World Studio Foundation Award and was selected as one of three portrait artists by the art magazine, Dialogue. When he was studying at the graduate school of New York University, he was named “best artist” by Peter Campus, who is regarded as a pioneer of video art. He is a professor at Keimyung University. As his work has received international acclaim and he has been steadily exhibiting pieces at international art fairs.

Lim is currently a South Korean visiting artist fellow at PSU's School of Art + Design.
