Kristen Pedersen

Instructor. Kristen Pedersen is a communications consultant and adjunct professor. In her former life she worked as an operations specialist in the US Coast Guard, wrangled talent at the Fort Lauderdale and Brussels film festivals, produced television sitcoms (among other less glamorous duties in Hollywood), and was, most recently, the director of PSU's Center for Executive and Professional Education (CEPE). She completed her Ph.D. in Public Communication at Bournemouth University (UK) and currently works with companies and nonprofit organizations to improve their communications across all channels.

Ed Warnock

Instructor. Ed Warnock, MA, is a senior manager at the consulting firm Genesis Group. He has more than 20 years of experience in consulting and business management. His expertise includes operations strategy, large-scale re-engineering, IT compliance and adoption planning, performance management, leadership training, and all aspects of transition management. He is a past president of the ASTD-Cascadia Chapter and teaches in the Oregon Executive MBA program. Mr. Warnock holds a BS in aerospace engineering and received his master’s degree in whole systems design/organizational systems renewal from Antioch University in Seattle, Washington.

Tom Parker

Instructor. Tom Parker has over twenty years' experience in consulting and project management, implementing enterprise applications and technology solutions for some of the largest companies in America. He holds a B.S. in finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and is a certified Project Management Professional.

Sharon Ward

Instructor. Sharon Ward has dedicated her life to authentic living. For the past 25 years, she has taught authentic leadership, yoga, and meditation to professionals, volunteers, and the general public. She is an attorney by trade, a nationally recognized search and rescue volunteer and trainer, and a senior meditation teacher at the movement Center in Portland.

Tanya Thompson

Instructor. Tanya Thompson, MA, with more than fifteen years' of experience in both the US and Europe, has backgrounds in team and leadership development along with incredible energy and enthusiasm making her a powerful force for organizational change and success. She has provided consultation services for a variety of corporate clients including Apple, Nike, Microsoft, MasterCard, Nestle’, Siemens, Shell Oil, the US Marine Corps, and T-Mobile. She has worked as a Trainer/Lecturer at the University of Vienna. She has started and run a private coaching company in Vienna, Austria, catering to the international and diplomatic community and private sector industries. Tanya brings together a wide range of skills and experience to help organizations activate effectiveness, advance collaboration and promote stability leading to a high performance work environment.

Elaine Lees

Instructor. Elaine Lees, MBA, SPHR, is a talent-management strategist who helps companies select, develop and retain key employees with custom fit solutions. She is the Principal for Elaine Lees Consulting. In her career as VP, HR, and company officer, Ms. Lees has been exposed to and managed through leading-edge issues in talent management such as retention, scaling for growth, outsourcing, mergers and acquisitions, rewards, and management development. Her organizations have won Best Company in Oregon and have been featured in magazines such as FAST Company and INC. Certified by Lominger, Hogan Assessments, Human Capital Institute among others, she also has a lifetime Senior Professional in Human Resources designation.

Dan Grinfas

Instructor. Dan Grinfas counsels employers and conducts management and employee training in various employment-related areas, including workplace harassment, civil rights laws, wage and hour laws, OFLA and FMLA, disability laws and reasonable accommodation, injured-worker laws, legal hiring practices, and policy writing and employer record-keeping requirements. He represents employers before administrative agencies, including the Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Mr. Grinfas is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute. He has also been included in the employment law category of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Instructor. Ryan is an Oregon employment lawyer with 10 years of experience. He focuses his practice exclusively on advising and training employers on compliance with all manner of employment laws, including in the areas of discrimination and harassment, family leave, wage and hour, disability accommodation, and employment contracts, among others. He also has extensive experience representing employers in litigation in state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI). Ryan also worked in the Multnomah County District Ryan is an Oregon employment lawyer with 10 years of experience. He focuses his practice exclusively on advising and training employers on compliance with all manner of employment laws, including in the areas of discrimination and harassment, family leave, wage and hour, disability accommodation, and employment contracts, among others. Kyle Abraham

Instructor. Kyle Abraham, PHR, SHRM-CP represents employers in both traditional labor and employment law matters. He works with businesses of all sizes, government entities, and not-for-profit organizations. In his employment law practice, Kyle works closely with employers to develop effective workplace policies, and he provides proactive advice and counsel. Additionally, Kyle is a trained, certified and experienced workplace investigator, and he regularly conducts investigations into allegations of employee misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other sensitive issues. Kyle is an experienced litigator who has successfully represented clients before U.S. circuit and district courts, Oregon and Washington state courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries, and other state and federal agencies. Kyle leverages his experience to help employers anticipate and resolve problems at the earliest possible stage and in a cost-effective manner, with the confidence and capability to defend employers if the matter escalates to litigation.
