RUNA
Lali Ayguadé is among Spain’s most acclaimed up-and coming choreographers, whose career spans collaborations with dancers and circus performers across Europe. In her new duet RUNA, Ayguadé plumbs the emotional depths of nostalgia to unveil a loving relationship that is sometimes joyful and sometimes combative, but always awe-inspiring.
What you'll see on stage:
RUNA is a duet that explores memory, longing, and emotional complexity through abstract movement and intimate staging. The performance unfolds in a stylized living room, where two dancers navigate themes of connection and loss in a cyclical, physical dialogue. The movement incorporates elements of contact improvisation and gestures from partner dance forms like flamenco and tango, filtered through contemporary technique. The work features minimal set design, original music, and lighting that enhance its introspective, cinematic atmosphere. With an experimental tone and shifting emotional contrasts, RUNA resonates with themes of nostalgia, romantic tension, and the passage of time. This is a small-scale, conceptual work that invites close attention to detail and nuance.
