Spring 2019 Term Prize: Section Model
Spring 2019 Term Prize: Section Model

Recipients of the School of Architecture Spring 2019 Term Prize were honored at a ceremony on June 12, 2019, in Shattuck Hall Annex.

The Term Prize is intended to encourage and celebrate the creation of exquisite drawings, models and artifacts at all levels across the school, with a different mode of expression each term. In Spring 2019 term we focused on the section model as a mode of communication, encouraging architecture students in studio courses, from freshmen to graduate students, to explore a variety of techniques, scales, media, and materials to create exceptional three-dimensional representations of their architectural ideas. Combining the crafted detail of a thing well made with anatomical exposure through sectional disposition, the Section Model, when executed with love and attention, can seduce the most disinterested viewer.

Exemplary models were nominated by our faculty members during final reviews in June 2019. Below are the models that were selected to receive the Spring Term Prize.
