Meet Professor Linda George

The Sustainable Atmospheres Research (STAR) Lab, directed by ESM Professor Linda George, focuses on atmospheric chemistry, monitoring and modeling of urban air pollutants, assessing human exposure to and perception of air pollutants and climate change, development of measurement techniques for quantifying atmospheric species, investigations of urban climate modification, and atmospheric science education. Dr. George has served as a Program Director for the National Science Foundation (Division of Atmospheric and Geospace Sciences) as well as an Associate Editor for the journal "Science in the Total Environment". She is currently serving on the Cleaner Air Oregon Advisory Committee as well as the Oregon Senate Diesel Task Force. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the Environmental Protection Agency, United States Forest Service, USAID and several private foundations.
