The endowment for the Nancy W. Ryles Scholarship fund, founded in 1990 to honor the late Oregon Sen. Ryles through financial assistance to returning women undergraduate students at PSU, has now surpassed $500,000.

This year's recipient is Carlilee Levenseller, a mother of five and a member of the Vernonia School Board, in addition to being a full-time student. Levenseller will receive $6,000 for the grant—an increase of $1,000 from previous years.

The Nancy W. Ryles Scholarship is part of the student scholarship priority of the University's $100 million Building Our Future campaign; since its inception, the scholarship fund has helped 18 women seek completion of a college degree.
