PSU Second Annual Elevating Impact Summit Date and Speakers Confirmed

The Impact Entrepreneurs program of Portland State University is pleased to announce the second annual Elevating Impact Summit on Friday June 20th, 2014 from 8:30am -5:00pm at the Gerding Theater in Portland, Oregon. 

The Elevating Impact Summit celebrates and shares new approaches to generating social and environmental impact across business, social, public, and academic sectors.  Attendees include entrepreneurs, founders, business and nonprofit professionals, students, academics, government officials, and investors. The theme of the 2014 Summit is “Lifelong Changemakers” and will feature a range of speakers from bright young innovators to experienced champions. 

Confirmed speakers at the 2014 Elevating Impact Summit include Marc Freedman, co-founder and CEO of; Brenda VanKanegan, vice president and CFO of Oregon Community Foundation; Angela Jackson, director of the Portland State Business Accelerator and founder and managing director of the Portland Seed Fund; Katrina Scotto Di Carlo, co-founder of Supportland and Portland Made; Rane Johnson-Stempson, director with Microsoft Research Connections; and Molly Lindquist, founder and CEO of Consano, winner of the Elevating Impact Summit 2013 Social Innovation Pitch Fest. 

The Summit will feature the second annual Impact Awards, celebrating innovative individuals and organizations leading meaningful change in our communities and the Social Innovation Pitch Fest, a showcase of up-and-coming social entrepreneurs. Panels will explore communities in transition, encore careers, and impact funding along with true stories of creativity, ingenuity, and empathy on the road to creating real impact. 

The inaugural 2013 Elevating Impact Summit brought together more than 330 attendees, highlighted 27 speakers, celebrated five award winners, and was supported by 17 sponsoring companies and organizations. 

Elevating Impact is hosted by Portland State University’s Impact Entrepreneurs. Established by PSU’s School of Business Administration, Impact Entrepreneurs works with individuals and organizations committed to unleashing the power of business for social impact. In 2012, Impact Entrepreneurs led the process for PSU to become a designated Ashoka U Changemaker Campus, providing global recognition for PSU’s efforts to enable individuals to become innovative changemakers. 

Event tickets, on sale now, are $75 if purchased by May 20th and $100 after. Students from any school can register any time for the discounted rate of $25.
