Dick Halley, former faculty memberEarly grads enjoy reunion

MORE THAN 75 Vanport alumni (1946 to 1955) and members of Portland State College's first graduating class of 1956 enjoyed tours of campus and a festive reunion luncheon in June.

Attendees had fun getting reacquainted and making new friends, and were happy to see former faculty members Brock Dixon, Dick Halley (pictured at right), Stanley Johnson, Bill Lemman, and Hildegard Weiss. Chuck Clemans '56 emceed the event, former administrator Margaret Dobson discussed the "can do" spirit that prevailed during the Vanport days, and Stuart Hood '56 recalled his work on PSC's plans for expansion. President Dan Bernstine called the attendees pioneers and praised them for their resourcefulness, positive attitude, and for laying the groundwork for today's urban university.
