ISS Advisory Council

The PSU Institute for Sustainable Solutions Advisory Council was formed in 2015 to provide perspective on emerging issues; give input on program development including ways to align PSU's sustainability programming with the needs of business, nonprofit, and government sectors; and help identify areas where ISS can broaden its impact in communities across Portland and the Pacific Northwest.

The members of the ISS Advisory Council are:

  • Susan Anderson, director, City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability
  • Clark Brockman, principal, SERA Architects
  • Darrell Brown, professor of accounting, PSU School of Business Administration
  • Rich Canaday, retired business and real estate attorney
  • Serena Dressell, PSU student representative
  • Ben Duncan, chief diversity and equity officer, Multnomah County; board chairman, OPAL Environmental Justice Oregon
  • Christine Ervin, consultant and speaker, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy
  • Jonathan Fink, senior advisor to the president and professor of geology, Portland State University

  • John Gordon, Pinchot Professor Emeritus and former dean, Yale University School of Forestry & Environmental Studies
