Social Sustainability Month: Diversifying the Environmental Movement with Marcelo Bonta
Wednesday, November 13, 2013 - 3:00pm to Wednesday, November 13, 2013 - 5:00pm

Location: Native American Student & Community Center

Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm

Marcelo Bonta, founder and executive director of the Center for Diversity and the Environment, will speak about significant demographic shifts in the US and share a vision of how the environmental movement will need to operate to be successful in coming years. He will address various barriers to broad involvement in environmental and sustainability initiatives while providing guidance for moving forward together. In a recent article, Bonta said, “Today’s lack of diversity in the environmental movement is no one’s fault — but it is everyone’s responsibility.” In finding common ground, PSU’s community can create a movement that is based in our values and representative of our diverse campus culture.
