Sustainability Tracking and Rating System (STARS) Gold Rating seven years in a row. One of four gold-rated institutions in Oregon.



In 2016, PSU started a Campus Apiary, bringing honeybees and mason bees to campus. PSU is now certified as a Bee Campus USA, making the world safer for pollinators one campus at a time.




One of seven Tree Campuses in Oregon, this award recognizes colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals.


Originally certified in 2006, PSU re-certified in April of 2015. The certification represents efforts to protect water quality and downstream salmon habitat, especially regarding PSU's management of stormwater.






Ranked among the top 50 in the Sierra Cool Schools list every year since 2012.






Named a Platinum-level Bicycle Friendly University by the League of American Bicyclists. One of only five platinum-rated universities in the country, and the only in Oregon.




Included in Princeton Review's Guide to Green Colleges 10 years in a row, including among the Top 50 from 2015-2018. 




U.S. News & World Report ranks PSU as top 10 "most innovative" schools in its Best Colleges 2017 rankings.
