Please note:

  1. Contributors are free to work on multiple items with more than one Student Media organization at a time.
  2. Each item may only be invoiced once, even if published in both print and online.
  3. Video and audio rates reflect thoroughly edited stories. Stories that are minimally edited or not edited will receive a “brief” rate regardless of duration. As with all categories of contractor work, items that are unnecessarily lengthy or that do not meet established standards may be rejected or sent back for further revision at the editor's discretion.
  4. Contributors who submit 10 consecutive items by the organization-specified deadline will be eligible for “Preferred Contributor” rates for item 11 and beyond in designated categories of content. Thereafter, if a PC misses a deadline, they will receive a courtesy reminder of expectations. A second missed deadline will result in a return to standard contributor rates, wherein the contributor would again have to submit 10 items by deadline before being eligible for PC rates. PC status occurs separately for each organization.
