Join us Nov. 8, 9 and 10 for the Champs-Élysées Film Festival, part of the U.S. tour of the mother festival in Paris in June. We'll be joined by the main festival's artisitic director Justine Lévêque and comedian, director and LGBT activist Océan whose film opens the festival Friday night.

Friday, Nov. 8 | 7 p.m.

Océan by Océan: This intimate documentary tells the transition of transgender actor and director Océan from the first shot of testosterone to the record of his new gender by the French civil courts.

Hear from Océan himself when he speaks about transidentity and feminism in France in the Language Lounge (FMH 334) at 4 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 9 | 7 p.m.

Braquer Poitiers by Claude Schmitz: Thomas and Francis attack Wilfrid, the owner of a car wash station. Against all odds, the latter is delighted with the new events that bring adventure in his routine.

The film will be followed by a discussion on independent cinema with Océan, Justine Lévêque and PSU's School of Film.

Je sors acheter des cigarettes by Osman Cerfon, Audience Award for Best Short Film
Ông Ngoai (Grand-Father) by Maximilian Badier Rosenthal, Jury Award for Best Short Film
Djo by Laura Henno,  Jury Award for Best Short Film
Le roi des démons du vent by Clémence Poésy, short film

All films are free and open to the public, and will be shown in the 5th Avenue Cinema.

The film festival is organized by the French section in PSU's World Languages and Literatures department, PSU's School of Film and the Alliance française of Portland.
