At some point in our lives, social workers have probably helped or will help all of us. For the nearly 1,000 students who call the School of Social Work home each year, covering the costs of education can be a real challenge. That's why giving to benefit our student scholarships is so important.

Among MSW students who graduated in the spring of 2015, 59% exited the program with $40,000 to $69,000 in student loans. Based on data from a 2013 research study completed by our faculty, 43% of School of Social Work students experience food insecurity. This means that many of our students struggle with getting access to affordable, nutritious food most days of the week.

Your gift means our students can focus more on their studies and less on financial pressures.

Thank you for giving to student scholarships in the School of Social Work.  We appreciate your generous support.

  • Charlotte Goodluck

Dr. Charlotte Tsoi Goodluck Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Charlotte Tsoi Goodluck spent a lifetime as a social work professional.  Charlotte exemplified a lifetime dedication to social justice, healing, and the well-being of all communities - especially Indigenous people.  She was a strong promoter of alternative ways of knowing indigenous pedagogy and theory.  She was an enthusiastic and determined “opener of doors” of encouragement and opportunity for both her students and her colleagues.  Her gentleness, sense of humor and steadiness in the face of challenges was especially admired and appreciated.  Her greatest legacy will remain the 1,000’s of students that she taught in her lifetime and their continuing efforts to practice ethical, culturally responsible and impactful social work.  The Dr. Charlotte Tsoi Goodluck Endowed Memorial Scholarship is an opportunity to memorialize a lifetime of both personal and professional accomplishments and furthers that legacy through the achievements of future scholarship recipients. -> Give Now
