Professional Background & Interests:

Amber has been practicing speech-language pathology since 2002. She has a strong foundation in evaluating and treating a variety  of pediatric communication disorders, but established an expertise in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) while working in the Legacy Health
System. At Emanuel Children’s Hospital, Amber served on the AAC team and provided evaluations and
treatment in acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient units. In 2009, Amber moved to The Children’s
Center at Legacy Salmon Creek to develop the AAC program in the outpatient clinic. Over the majority
of her 8 years with Legacy, Amber served pediatrics (ages 2-21) with complex communication needs
and mentored therapists and students in AAC. In the Fall of 2012, Amber joined Camas School District
to develop the AAC program in the middle schools and high schools. Amber resides in Vancouver,
Washington with her husband and son.
