Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Program

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination®. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify.

Program overview

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst program in Portland State University’s Department of Special Education is a 29 quarter-credit fully online program that expertly prepares program participants with content derived from the fourth edition of the Behavior Analyst Task List. In addition, the program includes a number of added curricular areas of focus, including an explicit emphasis on the combined use of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports and Telehealth/Technology Supports.

Verified Course Sequence pass-rate data

Pass-rate data are not published for sequences with fewer than six first-time candidates in a single year or for sequences within their first four years of operation.

Who should apply? 

Graduate students in human service areas of study such as behavior analysis, education and psychology, who would like to receive graduate training in ABA and/or complete the course sequence as a requirement to take the BCBA examination are encouraged to apply (refer to the degree section of option 1).
