April joined Student Legal Services in 2014. April primarily assists in family law matters, domestic violence cases, and legal name and gender changes. She graduated Lewis & Clark Law School in 2008. That same year she was recognized as a Shepherd Scholar for her advocacy for queer and trans individuals. After law school April clerked for a Multnomah Circuit Court judge, represented low-income clients in a variety of family law cases at St. Andrew Legal Clinic. April is also an advocate for tenant rights. She represented victims of housing discrimination through the Fair Housing Council of Oregon, she served two terms on the board of directors of the Community Alliance of Tenants and she continues to advocate for tenants. April loves Portland, her cats & playing pinball.
