My Background

After two and a half years of undergraduate studies, I left school early for an apprenticeship in Coffee Roasting. I eventually became the Head Roastmaster at Caribou Coffee Company in Minneapolis. When I left the coffee industry, I attended the Aveda Institute and afterwards became the Technical Director of the Western U.S. I was in that role six years before leaving to open my own consumer services business in San Francisco. I went on to own three consumer retail and services businesses in S.F. before moving to Portland, where I landed with Apple Inc. I currently help to run their retail division for Oregon and Idaho.

My Experience at Portland State University

I began my undergraduate degree in a traditional Bachelors program at the University of Minnesota. After transferring to Portland State University, I entered a fully-online Bachelor of Science program. I am currently in the online M.S. of Global Supply Chain Management program in the Graduate Business School. With my experience in both traditional and online programs, I can be a good resource to explain both the differences between the two and share the skills necessary to be successful at both.

My Future Goals

I am passionate about working with people, technology, and the outdoors. After graduation I would like to combine these passions by working with a sourcing team in the technology or outdoor industries.
