Stéphanie Roulon, World Languages and Literatures faculty, received a Faculty Development Award for her project entitled "Service Learning a Multidimensional Tool to Develop Inter-cultural, Generational and Linguistic Skills in an L2 [Second Language].” This project proposes to connect advanced French students with residents of nursing homes in Quebec. The participants will interact through video calls with their elderly partners on several occasions throughout the quarter. The aim is to demonstrate the instructional potential of a well-designed international service learning experience for the language learners and the community participating in this intercultural and intergenerational endeavor.
