Tavi Gupta, Student Director of Holocaust and Genocide Studies Project

Tavi Gupta is an undergraduate student at Portland State University, working towards her B.S. in History and Judaic Studies. She moved to Oregon from the Midwest in 2008 and then moved to Portland to attend PSU. Her academic focus is on Modern Jewish History from 1918 to 1950 and she is hoping to go on to a PhD program in Holocaust and Genocide Studies. She has since represented PSU as a speaker at the 2013 Simon Benson Dinner as well as at the Annual Scholarship Reception Dinner.  She was the recipient of the 2013 Sara Glascow Cogan Scholarship through the Judaic Studies Department which provided her with a two term internship at Portland’s Oregon Holocaust Resource Center. She was the 2013 coordinator for Portland’s Yom HaShoah event, as part of her internship at the OHRC. She now works with the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Project at Portland State University. Tavi hopes to help encourage conversation and education surrounding the ideas and events of the Holocaust and genocide. Tavi lives in Portland with her partner, her three children and dog.
