Lubomyr Melnyk: "Continuous Music"

The Portland Center for Public Humanities, in collaboration with the PSU School of Music and Yale Union, presents a lecture on Continuous Music with composer and pianist Lubomyr Melnyk.

Melnyk is known for his work in developing "continuous music", a technique of piano playing that relies upon rapid notes and note-series, sustained to generate overtones and sympathetic resonances, creating a tapestry of sound.

Melnyk released his latest album, "Corollaries" on UK label Erased Tapes. The album was recorded and produced by Oregon musician Peter Broderick ,with the additional help of Nils Frahm and Martyn Heyne.

Friday, February 28, 1 p.m.
Lincoln Hall 321

This event is free and open to the public.
