James Woods, received an appointment to the Higher Education Coordinating Commission. The new, fifteen-member, commission is works with the Oregon Educational Investment Board and the State Board of Higher Education on education policy and funding.
The commission is charged with: developing state goals and associated accountability measures for the post-secondary education system, including community colleges, public universities and OHSU; developing a strategic plan for achieving the state's higher education goals and; developing a financial model for higher education in Oregon. The charge includes recommending to the legislature a consolidated higher education budget for, student aid, ongoing operations, new facilities and programs as well as capital improvements.
