Food Deserts and How They Can Be Eliminated
Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 5:30pm to Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 7:30pm

Food Deserts. What are they? Who do they impact? How can they be eliminated?

Join us on February 28th for a panel discussion with local entrepreneurs working on bringing fresh nutritious food to everyone in the Portland Metro area. The Portland State University Alumni Association in partnership with PSU's Center for Entrepreneurship has prepared an incredible program bringing Portland's food desert issue to light.

Food deserts are characterized by a lack of supermarkets which decreases residents' access to fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods. Learn about the regions impacted by grocery shortages, what has been done so far, and hear about the innovative and creative ways members of your community are helping solve the issue.
