We Play for the Silly

"Creating time...to get outside, to run around, to just take care of yourself adds a lot of value to the experience of being a student."

Team SWAG (Social Work Activity Group), made up of students studying social work at Portland State, has competed in the Intramural Recreational Soccer League since fall 2013.

Current team captains Karissa Moden and Jennifer Smith admit they aren't the most competitive team on the pitch, but the value for them is the commuity the team fosters.

"It's pretty beautiful to kind of have that sustained effort within a team and realize how needed it is to have that play time, silly time outside the classroom and on the field," Karissa said.
