My favorite class to teach is: Cycle/Krank
Because: Any type of music can be used, and beginners and advanced participants can both get an appropriate workout riding right next to each other.
My favorite song on my playlist is: Impossible to choose! But for Cycle I use a Riverdance song called “Reel Around the Sun,” which is the most motivating song in the world for me.
Because: I just can’t slow down when that song is playing. No matter how tired I am, the fast beat pushes me to keep going. I always think of the crazy tap dancing they do in Riverdance and if they can tap that fast then I can certainly pedal or run fast too!
I love teaching Group X because: It is rewarding to see people new to Group X try out your class, feel successful, and come back. It is also great to have your regulars who you can establish a relationship with and push to the next level. Group X makes workout sessions fun and effective and the classes hold you accountable. There really are no negatives!
Classes I teach: Yoga
My favorite class to teach is: Power Vinyasa
Because: I can get creative with sequencing.
My favorite song on my playlist is: Too hard to choose! "Only Shallow" by My Bloody Valentine, "Heartbeats" by the Knife, and "I Feel It All" by Feist to name a few.
Because: Some music just helps you zone in.
I love teaching Group X because: It's a special opportunity to bring yoga to people of all different levels of skill and experience, who may not otherwise get to take part.
Classes I teach: Power Vinyasa Yoga, Family Friendly Yoga, Gentle Yoga
My favorite class to teach is: Any kind of yoga, really!
Because: Yoga has been such an important part of my life and has helped me so much to manage stress. I know students experience TONS of stress, so being able to share it with PSU community is extra gratifying.
My favorite song on my playlist is: This changes all the time, but at the time of writing this, it's The Bargain Store by Dolly Parton.
Because: My grandparents had a huge influence over me.
I love teaching Group X because: Community!
Classes I teach: Sneakercamp, cardio/agility, cycle/krank, but I mostly teach Sneakercamp
My favorite class to teach is: Sneakercamp
Because: I love to introduce folks to the Bootcamp style class, plus smaller numbers allow for me to get to know participants.
My favorite song on my playlist is: Favorite song is probably still “#1”
I love teaching Group X because: I like to teach Group X because of the building of a community of folks coming together to work on healthy habits and this is one of those habits they have decided to put into their weekly routine.
Classes I teach: Power Vinyasa Yoga, Hatha Yoga
My favorite class to teach is: Hatha Yoga
Because: My Hatha Yoga class is a foundational practice with beginners in mind. I like to start my classes of with a meditation and traditional yogic breathing (Pranayama), then guide the students into the postures (Asanas), and run through a few Sun Salutations, follow by meditation and Savasana (Corpse pose). Personally I believe that yoga is a state of being, but it doesn't have to be anything more than you want it to be.
My favorite song on my playlist is: Days of Silence - Omnimotion
Because: It's so smooth, ambient, graceful, soft, and soothing.
I love teaching Group X because: I love my students. I love the location, the gym, facilities, the staff - everything about PSU Campus Rec. Group X is where I first got my start in instructing yoga classes and it's been my home base for over 1 year. After each class I teach, I feel that I have made a contribution to humanity. Students say they feel inspired, educated, and best of all - empowered! That's because yoga is a system of self-development designed to unlock your infinite potential.
Classes I teach: Power Vinyasa and Beginner Hatha Yoga
My favorite class to teach is: Hatha Yoga
Because: I enjoy teaching different philosophies, breathing techniques and meditations that can be used on and off the mat.
My favorite song on my playlist is: "Budding Trees" by Medicine for the People
Because: It speaks to my heart and inspires me to strengthen my relationship with the land, my community and myself.
I love teaching Group X because: It's a wonderful opportunity to connect, play and practice with the PSU community.
Classes I teach: Insanity, Women-Only Strength, Water X, Cycle/Krank, HITT + Abs, Bootcamp
My favorite class to teach is: I rotate between all of them, but right now I'd say Insanity and Bootcamp!
Because: I love teaching Insanity because it is a high energy class and everyone knows when the change is coming. I love teaching Bootcamp because I have full creative ability as an instructor and anything goes!
My favorite song on my playlist is: "Someone Who Can Dance" by Icon Pop and "Beat of My Drum" by POWERS.
Because: It is impossible for me to not move my body when I listen to these songs.
I love teaching Group X because: I love being in a room full of people all with the same goal of getting a sweat on while having fun. I feel empowered by other's motivation and energy.
Classes I teach: U-Jam and Hula (but not at PSU).
My favorite class to teach is: U-Jam
Because: A diverse playlist but all great songs to work out with and I love the community in U-Jam!
My favorite song on my playlist is: Replay by Shinee
Because: It is in Korean and I don't know the words but I just love it! Such a great song to groove to!
I love teaching Group X because: We are dancing together, working out and having fun. I have met great people in Group X classes and some have become my best friends. It brings people together!

Because: it’s fun to climb big hills in cycle class.
I love teaching Group X because: I find exercise to be fun, grounding, and confidence building. I also like to share that with others.

My favorite class to teach: Insanity!
Because: It's always a high energy workout with a great mix of exercises!
My favorite song on my playlist: “Starboy" by The Weekend and "I'm In Control" by Aluna George.
Because: The beats make me want to move.
I love teaching Group X because: There's always a great mix of people from all different backgrounds coming together for a common goal.

My favorite class to teach is: Bootcamp.
Because: I can be as creative as I want with my exercises and I am not limited on what sort of equipment I can use.
My favorite song on my playlist is: "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran (Kygo Remix)
Because: This song is about unity, which makes it the perfect cool down song for a Group X class setting.
I love teaching Group X because: I love the way that Group X classes allow for people to step out of their comfort zone and do something that they would have otherwise not done when working out alone.
Classes I teach: Hatha Yoga and GYROKINESIS® Exercise
My favorite class to teach is: Hatha Yoga
Because: I love the practice of Hatha Yoga! It is not only calming and therapeutic for mind and body, but also challenging and fun. Practicing the poses and transitional movements with breath awareness becomes a moving meditation and a very joyful experience – a perfect practice for a lifetime.
My favorite song on my playlist is: I’m not currently using music with my classes. Though a favorite is Laya Project - "Laya Mantra (Kartrck & Gotam Yalla Mantra Remix)" (05:44) track 8 on White Swan Records Globesonic DJ Alsultany’s Yoga Lounge.
Because: It includes both traditional and contemporary music, chants and sound remixed that provides an upbeat and contemplative atmosphere. In Yoga, laya refers to absorption of breath and mind in the heart. Also, I appreciate that it is part of a project that documented the music of unknown local folk musicians in the remote villages that were in the path of 2004 tsunami in Asia.
I love teaching Group X because: I enjoy sharing the experience of movement and mood in a group setting. It is always my hope that participants not only become comfortable with the practices from classes but are also encouraged to explore and play within their own practice.
