Brother Outsider shares Bayard Rustin's story as a an organizer of the 1963 March on Washington one of the largest nonviolent protests ever held in the United States. Throughout his struggle to organize the protest he was arrested, beaten, imprisoned, fired from leadership positions because he was openly gay during an openly homophobic era.
