About Us

The Retirement Association of Portland State (RAPS) is the oldest university retirement association in the state of Oregon. The 400-member association includes faculty and staff retirees of PSU, working faculty and staff 55 years of age or older and retired personnel from other accredited colleges or universities.

RAPS Organization Information

RAPS Objectives

RAPS is governed by its bylaws which can be accessed here.

  • Promote the welfare of retired personnel

  • Provide facilities and leadership for retiree activities

  • Encourage communication among its members

  • Provide pertinent information to persons eligible for membership.

  • Confer with University president and other officers on matters of mutual interest

    to RAPS and to PSU

  • Support the aims and objectives of the University and promote its endeavors

  • Assist in the development and preservation of the history of Portland State University

  • Communicate information to members and the University community through it's newsletter and website

Board meetings are open to all RAPS members. We meet in the conference room of the Simon Benson House on the second Thursday of each month from September through May. Board meetings begin promptly at 12:00 pm.
