Charles M. White, Awards Chair & Member-at-Large
I started teaching history at Portland State in 1952, when the school was still Portland State Extension Center, and I taught my last class at PSU in 2009. I was Director of Summer Session from 1970 to 1989 and Director of International Education from 1970 to 1985. I started the college's overseas study programs in 1962 and led five overseas programs, my final one in the 1990s. I've served RAPS in several capacities, including as president, Awards Committee chair, and lead editor of Portland State: A History in Pictures. For the past 25 years, I've been volunteering at Multnomah Falls Visitor Center, and since retiring I audit PSU courses regularly.

Doug Swanson, Co-President of RAPS
I came to Portland State in 1979 as an editor and served nearly 20 years as director of the Office of Publications before retiring in 2006. I was editor of the RAPS Sheet from 2007 to 2010. In 2011, Steve Brannan, professor emeritus of education, and I co-edited, “Creating Portland State, 1946-1955,” which won a Silver Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. I also received a Special Recognition Award from RAPS in 2011.

Nancy Erikkson, Social Committee Chair
I started at PSU in 1989 in the Office of Graduate Studies and moved to various positions in the CLAS Dean's office and Registrars Office. I ultimately ran my beloved Geology Dept office for 20+ years.
In retirement, I spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy my book club, exercise, cooking and baking. I enjoy all the fine and performance arts, as well as politics (go progressives!), architecture (go Rem Koolhaas!), and college sports (go Ducks!).

Dawn White, Co-President of RAPS
I retired from PSU in 2008 after a 30-year career in international education, starting out as a study abroad adviser and eventually becoming director of study abroad programs and services to international students and faculty. Almost immediately upon retiring I joined the RAPS Board as a Member-at-Large and then served as editor of the RAPS Sheet from Sept. 2010 through June 2013. In the summer of 2016 I rejoined the Board for a two-year term as co-president, a position I will hold until summer 2018.
