International Family Equality Day Celebration

Come make some new friends and play some games with us during PSU Pride Month! We'll have Wii U games on the big projector screen, movie snacks and sodas, as well as plenty of space for board games. This is a chill event, introverts welcome!

Sound Waves Pool Party Pride Edition

Campus Rec celebrates Pride at PSU with our first ever Pride-themed Sound Waves Pool Party hosted by Poison Waters, Portland’s most popular drag queen and entertainer. This dance party in the water is complete with a talented student DJ playing music to a laser light show. Bring your pride, we’ll bring free food and floaties.

Two single use, gender neutral changing/shower/toilet rooms are available in the pool area.

Who/Cost: Free for Campus Rec members (all PSU students are members!) and up to three non-member guests. The guest fee is waived for this special event. Photo IDs are required for all guests. No registration required.

Feminist Queer Crip: Imagining Accessible Futures with Alison Kafer

Join us at Portland State University for Alison Kafer's keynote at the fifth annual Walk of the Heroines Lecture. Kafer is a cutting-edge critical disability studies scholar and author of Feminist, Queer, Crip. (Indiana UP, 2012). By challenging the (dis)ability system and compulsory heterosexuality, Kafer asks us to imagine what a future based on justice might look like. She expands on how alliances and coalitions can cross disability rights, trans-activism, and feminist activist spaces and time. Kafer’s work is a crucial contribution to feminist, queer, and crip thought. This event is free and open to the public.

Pride Kickball

Wear your pride and relive recess with a spirited game of kickball. Join a team or cheer from the sidelines, soak up some sun and enjoy some free food! 

Queer Activism

Join a panel of local Queer activists in an open discussion on the nuances and experiences of being an activist. Remember: stonewall was a riot, so come chat with us on ways you can take action in your communities!

Gays in the Garden

Capture the Pride Flag

Attendees can expect a fun game of capture the pride flags with multiple teams. Everyone who participates will get a prize! Event will be made as accessible as possible! Email with any accessibility needs.

Dismantling Machismo Panel with Xicanisma and Xicano Chisme

Join us at PSU's Native American Center for a special panel event featuring guests Cassandra Alicia of 'Xicanisma' and Ruben Angel of 'Queer Xicano Chisme'! This panel titled "Dismantling Machismo in Chicanx Communities" will have Cassandra and Ruben share their experiences as social media activists and how social media platforms can be used as tools to dismantle systems of oppression such as misogyny, machismo, homophobia and sexism. This panel will be facilitated by PSU MEChA member Berenice García and co-coordinator Julian Bugarín Quezada.

This event is a collaborative event between PSU MEChA and the Queer Resource Center for their respective 2017 Chicanx Week and Pride Month. Free snacks and drinks will be provided.

The Erasure of Black Trans Women and Femmes Through History
