Giving to QRC Scholarship & Emergency Funds

Why We Provide Funds

Part of our mission is to support students along spectra of gender and sexuality to persist to graduation.

We've read the reports - up to 40% of young people who become homeless each year are LGBTQ. Many students commute to our campus, and housing nearby is becoming less and less affordable. We see that gender and sexual minority students are less likely to have help paying for education and are less likely to have a financial safety net than straight and cisgender students. (Information from "LGBT Roadblocks to Financial Aid")

We hope to award scholarships to queer and trans students who need help paying for educational expenses, and to provide small emergency assistance grants for students who are experiencing severe financial hardship.

We Need Your Help

Raising over $50,000 in 2016 would allow us to establish an ongoing scholarship fund and provide some emergency assistance. Raising over $10,000 in 2016 would allow us to provide small scholarships and limited emergency assistance over the next 5 academic years.

Make a Gift

Use the link below to make a recurring or one-time tax deductible gift to the Queer Resource Center.

Every dollar raised in 2016 will go directly back to students via scholarships or emergency assistance.
