Kerry Mandulak receives career award from American Speech Language and Hearing Association

Kerry Mandulak, Speech and Hearing faculty, received an Advancing Academic-Research Careers (AARC) award from the American Speech - Language - Hearing Association. The AARC is given to new faculty in higher education to support their academic and research endeavors in the field of communication sciences and disorders and to increase retention of doctoral level faculty. This $5,000 award supports Mandulak's work with a primary mentor, Kathy Chapman, professor at University of Utah and accomplished researcher in the field of early speech and language development in children born with cleft lip and palate. For the next 18 months, Mandulak and Chapman will be working on collaborative research endeavors, manuscript and grant writing, and will have monthly communication or meetings at national conferences.
