Fridays@4: Jason Leighton, Travel Prize Winner
Friday, May 3, 2013 - 4:00pm

Each Friday at 4pm during the term, the students, faculty and community of the Portland State University School of Architecture converge on the Shattuck Hall Annex to hear the remarks of notable architects, artists, designers, landscape architects, academics and fellow students about their work in their respective fields.

At this week's Fridays@4, fourth year architecture student, Jason Leighton, will be sharing his travel story. In 2012, Leighton was awarded the Travel Fellowship Prize from the School of Architecture and used his grant to explore the Anasazi Cliff Dwellings in the Southwestern region of the US. Jason states, "The Anasazi and related native tribes represented the most architecturally advance cultures in North America prior to European colonization." Come to the lecture to hear the architectural lessons he learned through exploring the compelling dwellings and Chocoan culture.
