Project Description:

Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility provides students with the opportunity to perform community service with an education and advocacy non-profit organization focusing on peace and environment issues. Oregon PSR's mission is to use the tools of medicine and public health to address the gravest threats to human survival. The organization offers several one-time lectures to a variety of classes. These include: "The Health Effects of War: Case Study Iraq," "Plastics and Human Health," "The Air You Breathe," "In Harm's Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development," "Global Warming: Action for a Healthy Future," and several more. Oregon PSR offers a paid summer internship working on peace and security issues on international solutions to conflict and/or nuclear weapons.
