Instructor. Born and raised in Malaysian Borneo, award winner Lillian A. Tsai specializes in the consulting, facilitation, training, design and implementation of cross-cultural competency, intercultural communications, diversity, equity and inclusion interventions, strategies and programs.  She also specializes in coaching people of color and managers of diverse teams.  Prior to starting TsaiComms in 2002, she spent 25 years in global high tech marketing and communications, which included an expatriate assignment in Stuttgart, Germany. 

Her clients include:  Boeing, Bonneville Power Administration, City of Hillsboro, Daimler Trucks North America, Energy Trust of Oregon, Microsoft, Nike, NW Natural, Oregon Health Sciences University, Oregon Health Authority/AMH, Portland Farmer’s Market, Portland General Electric, Por Que No Taqueria, Portland State University CEPE, Providence Medical Center, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Salvation Army White Shield Center, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Tacoma Pierce County Public Health Department, Qorvo, Wacom, Washington County, Wells Fargo Co., Western Energy Institute, and the U.S. Forest Service, to name a few.

She has been teaching courses related to culture and business communication at CEPE since 2011.

She served on multiple committees, boards and advisory boards including APANO, APACC, the Portland Human Resources Management Association (PHRMA) as director of Global HR and Diversity & Inclusion, the Oregon Organization Development Network (OODN), NW China Council, TriMet’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee, and the Women’s Center for Leadership.
