I was born and raised in New York State, but have lived in Portland since the summer of 2013. I'm a transplant, but I think I'll call Portland home! I use she, her, hers as my preferred pronouns. I most recently worked as an Area Coordinator here at PSU for the students living on west campus. This opportunity exposed me to the broad needs and experiences of the PSU student. Prior to PSU, I worked at Syracuse University and also earned my Master's Degree in Higher Education. I had a fantastic undergraduate college experience at the State University of New York at New Paltz where I majored in Interpersonal/Intercultural Communication with a minor in Disaster Studies. Outside of the job, I am an avid traveler and am always looking for a new adventure. I've got lots of stamps in my passport: ask me where I've been! I also like to relax by singing in the Portland Lesbian Choir, walking around the city, finding a good cup of tea, and enjoying unique restaurants.
I am happy to meet with students who need a listening ear or want to connect with someone here at PSU. A few things I will gladly talk with students about:
- Self/time management
- Goal setting
- Social identity (I identify as Queer and I struggled to come out for many years. I am willing to share my story and listen to yours.)
- Exploring Portland and building community
- East coast things (like the lack of good deli's in Portland)
- Navigating campus resources
Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk about these things or anything else!
