What is your favorite thing about the University?

I love the urban campus. There’s always something new going on at PSU or in the community nearby. It’s allowed me to extend my education outside of the classroom with community partnerships and fellowships.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

My favorite spot is the 5th floor of the ASRC. The view is amazing! Whenever I’m stressed or super excited about something I go up there and the view takes my breath away.

What surprised you most about the school?

I was surprised about how supportive the faculty and staff was. I didn’t expect to get to know my professors and to have people cheering me on along the way. I am truly blessed to have an extended support system right on campus.

What is the most important thing you learned at PSU?

To keep an open mind. There have been situations that challenged my beliefs and values, but in the end I grew through them by keeping an open mind and trying to understand others’ viewpoints on the issues.

How do you fit into the tapestry of students/faculty here?

I feel like a member of a progressive community of future leaders. The ideas that are shared and created in the classroom live out in the lives of PSU graduates.
