School of Social Work PhD Student

Analucia received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Loyola Marymount University in 2007. In 2009 she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from the University of the Pacific, and in 2011 began the PhD in Social Work and Social Research program.  Analucia has 10+ years of leadership experience working with community agencies and organizations that specialize in anti-oppressive practice. Her specialties include critical ethnographic research and oral history projects. Her research interests include xenophobia, racism, critical pedagogies in education, informal economies, and the undocumented American experience. Analucia currently teaches in the School of Social Work, and is a Research Fellow at the Center to Advance Racial Equity at Portland State. In her free time she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and house music.
