Architectural Design Studio 9 (ARCH 582), Spring 2014: Design work in a first-year Master of Architecture studio

Taught by Professor Emeritus L. Rudolph Barton, this first-year Master of Architecture course involves advanced investigations of architectural and urban design issues in concluding series of studios. Projects include the design of private and public buildings which require comprehensive, integrative design development. Includes individual criticism, lectures, and seminars. This is the third course in a sequence of three: Arch 580Arch 581, and Arch 582, which must be taken in sequence. 

The Boxes of Weather project, depicted below, required students to research and design a mechanism representing a specific weather phenomenon, in miniature. (Image at top by Rachel Browne.)
