The proliferation of social media platforms and applications has changed the marketing landscape significantly, impacting how people buy and sell products, reach customers, interact with friends, and talk about likes and dislikes. Understanding this fast-changing landscape and the opportunities available is critical to effectively leveraging social media marketing.

This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of social media marketing as well as the strategic value of each of the major social platforms. Students will look at current trends impacting social media and digital marketing, the state of social media today, and how social media strategy has become an essential component within an organization’s marketing efforts.
