Join us for the 2020 Virtual Faculty and Staff Convocation on Sept. 23

September 21, 2020
Dear Campus Community,

We invite you to watch the 2020 Virtual Faculty and Staff Convocation beginning this Wednesday, Sept. 23.

The pre-recorded event can be watched at your convenience and will feature speakers who consider the meaning of resilience from historical, cultural, anti-racist, contemporary and futurist perspectives.

Speakers will share stories of resilience and offer ideas for how we can continue to foster an ethos of community care even in a virtual environment, setting the tone for our 75th-anniversary year, when we will create a new framework for racial equity and reimagine core concepts of service and community.

PSU has been resilient since our very beginning 75 years ago as an institution that was established to serve GIs returning from World War II. We were resilient in surviving and thriving in the aftermath of a flood that destroyed our first campus. And, we have been nothing if not resilient over the last six months in our continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic and through our efforts to forge a pathway to eliminate racism and advance social justice on our campus.

Beginning Sept. 23, faculty and staff can watch the virtual convocation by visiting the convocation landing page, or by clicking on the video link that will be emailed to faculty and staff.
We have amazing talent, energy and commitment on campus that are key assets to creating resilience. Colleagues, we are excited for the year ahead — a year when we recommit to our resilient roots and celebrate our spirit of service.
