Description: Walidah Imarisha will present her work and research on Oregon Black History. A historian at heart, reporter by (w)right, rebel by reason, Walidah Imarisha is an educator, writer, organizer and spoken word artist. Walidah is currently co-editing the visionary fiction anthology Octavia's Brood: Science Fiction Stories From Social Justice Movements with Adrienne Maree Brown. Walidah teaches in Portland State University's Black Studies Department, Oregon State University's Women's Studies Department and Southern New Hampshire University's English Department.
