Go Green: How Hemp Policies Affect The Earth & Its People

Students for Sensible Drug Policy

Description In honor of Earth Week, Portland State SSDP is organizing Go Green, a speaker series discussing how our drug policies

impact the environment, and what you can do to help! This event is 100% free and you don't need to be a student to participate.

At 4PM, we'll start things off in SMSU 230 with "Radical" Russ Belville (420Radio), who will be explaining what reformers

learned from Measure 80, the 2012 ballot initiative which would have ended marijuana prohibition in the state of Oregon.

At 6PM, we'll move over to SMSU 294 to hear from the Alyson Martin and Nushin Rashidian, authors of the book A New Leaf:

The End of Cannabis Prohibition. They will be discussing the promising opportunities offered by hemp and how this intersects

with the environment and sustainability.

Finally, at 7PM, we'll get an update from the Oregon legalization campaigns pushing for reform in 2014: Campaign for the

Restoration and Regulation of Hemp and New Approach Oregon. We'll catch up to the latest developments in their campaigns

and find out how to get involved in fixing our disastrous failed policies during the next election.
