Students United for Nonviolence Hosts Winter Clothes Drive for Syrian Refugees October 30-November 15

Students United for Nonviolence, SUN, at PSU and Associated Students at PCC are collecting clean and gently used clothes along with baby formula, toys, books, gloves, socks, etc. on behalf of Salaam Cultural Museum in Seattle, WA. All donations will go to Syrian refugees who are currently in Jordan. Salaam Cultural Museum is also organizing a volunteer-based medical mission that will be leaving to Jordan to establish a free dental clinic serving Syrian refugees at the time of this drive, attached here is a poster with more information.

According to UN Refugee Agency, it is estimated that 549,575 registered refugees are currently in Jordan alone. With winter fast approaching, the situation for refugees away from their homes is dire. There are about two million refugees in countries neighboring Syria and six million internally displaced. While the refugees' crisis is overwhelming, our collective help can and will make a difference.There are currently several drop off locations at Portland State University as listed here:
