PSU VOLLEYBALL - Vikings Host Alumnae Match Saturday

PORTLAND – Volleyball fans will have their first chance to see a new-look Portland State volleyball team this Saturday, August 23 at 5 p.m. as the Vikings welcome back previous greats for their Annual Alumnae Match.

The Vikings will be hosting an alumnae dinner following the match and all alumnae wanting more information should contact Vikings' Assistant Coach Eric Leibbrandt at

The Vikings open their 2014 campaign Aug. 29 against preseason No. 4 Washington at the Northwest Challenge hosted by Boise State. Washington went 30-3 last season en route to a National Semifinal appearance where they lost to eventual National Champion Penn State.
Portland State is coming off its second consecutive Big Sky Conference regular season championship. The Vikings went 21-11 overall and 17-3 in conference action.
Portland State returns seven letterwinners and welcomes six incoming freshmen for the 2014 season. PSU brings back starting middle blockers Leigh-Ann Haataja and Katie O'Brien as well as two-time defending Big Sky Libero of the Year, Kasimira "Kasi" Clark.
